Previously from Pittsburgh, I have spent the last 35 years living in Colorado. My wife Sara and I love motorcycling and have been doing so for over 15 years now. I served in the Navy for 5 years before starting my civilian career. In my free time, I enjoy camping, photography, and traveling around the country on my motorcycle. I have seen many beautiful places and have met some truly wonderful people along the way. Adventure and exploration are in my blood and I cherish every opportunity I get to discover something new.

A native of Colorado I learned to ride on a Honda 90 moved up quickly to a Hodaka Ace 100, (which I still own), and completely fell in love with motorcycles by age 11. In college, I rode a Suzuki 450 cafe racer back and forth to work and classes at Colorado College. An undergraduate history major, I received an MA in Museum Studies in Cooperstown, NY and after working at several private museums in CO & NM I went to work for the US Army at the 3rd Armoured Cavalry Museum in Ft. Bliss, TX. As a federal employee eager to return to CO I transferred from DOA to DOI becoming a museum curator for the National Park Service. I spent the next 23 years working at NPS parks and monuments located all over the Rocky Mountain West in 8 states from Montana to Texas. My first commuter BMW was a K1200GT, as was my second, but with heated grips and seat to extend the riding season which made going back and forth to the office and out to parks a real pleasure.  After taking early retirement in 2019; I joined the club where a third bike, a BMW 1200GS was added to the mix to ride all those dirt roads, mountain passes and remote campsites — and I've never looked back. I look forward to riding with his friends and new members to the club!

Moved to Colorado In 1993. Currently, retired living in Westminster, Co. and joined the BMW club a couple of years back after stalking them and finally joining some rides. After owning a number of bikes, I settled on the BMW GS – it suits my ride style, it's comfortable and my BMW friends like it.

Scott Dunaway

Ride Coordinator

Scott Dunaway

[email protected]

Scott learned to ride on a Yamaha DT100 Enduro using it as a work commuter as a teenager. He passed on his love for motorcycles to his kids who started riding on a beat up little Honda XR50 that left a trail of blue smoke wherever it went. In 2019, Scott moved from Michigan to Colorado and traded his R1200RT for a dual-sport GS to soak in all the joys of the twisty paved and gravel roads of the Rocky Mountains. He started doing ride coordination for the club in 2021 and has been growing the schedule to include rides that leave from Northern Colorado.

Safety Training Officer

Jared Canada

[email protected]

Jared has long been obsessed with motorcycles. From the first cruise on a scooter when he was twelve up until now, riding has been an all-consuming passion. He has owned multiple bikes over the years, and will likely continue to buy, sell, and trade his way into something else. In addition to being an MSF rider coach, Jared's focus is training for competitive skills challenges (think slow-speed police maneuvers), and learning new tactics for staying safe on the street. Due to his training, practice, and safety interests, Jared has been asked to helm the newly minted Safety/Training Officer for the club. Exciting times ahead! You can find him riding with the club into the mountains most Saturdays, or turning circles in a parking lot on Sundays.

Originally from Pennsylvania, I've called Colorado home since 1997. I spent a lot of time on the back of my Dad's motorcycle as a kid and experienced my first real moto camping adventure at the age of 10 when we took a week long 1,600 mile round trip to Canada. I've owned a Suzuki, 2 Triumph Tigers and now ride my 3rd BMW GS (1250 Rallye) which is the perfect bike for me. I completed the Rawhyde Off Road Riding Course in 2022 and now seek out dirt roads everywhere I go. I love family & friends, learning, teaching, photography, camping, shooting sports and generally anything outdoors.

David’s BUCKET LIST is the size of 55 gallon oil drum… and it’s overflowing! However, there is ALWAYS room for “one more” adventurous idea. So just give him a call if you ever need a partner in crime.

At the age of 16, I had my first motorcycle delivered to my house… because I didn’t yet know how to ride. Boy were my parents upset to see a brand new 1986 red, white and blue Honda Intercepter 500 being offloaded in front of my house. It took me several years of cutting grass, stocking shelves and working construction to make that happen. But they said, “You buy it, you can have it.”

Originally from Pittsburgh, moved around a lot after nearly 3 decades in the military, finally settled in Colorado for life.

Camping/hoteling, long distance/short distance, it doesn’t matter, I’m game. Looking forward to helping out the club and all the members as much as possible.

At 45 my 12 year old son wanted to learn to ride dirt bikes, so the quads were sold and Honda motorcycles were purchased. The first few years were squirrely, as we learned new skills while riding mostly single-track. Honda, Susuki, Kawasaki, KTM, Beta, Huquavarna have all called the garage home. In 2014 a F800gs caught my eye and the exciting world of adventure riding began. Exploring new places, routes, and making friends in Western US, Mexico, and Canada, what's better than that! Currently riding a Honda Africa Twin and an Aprilia Tuareg 660.
